Almost a year after Will Smith’s famous slap on the Oscars stage, Chris Rock returned to this episode at length during a one-man show broadcast live by Netflix, a first for the streaming platform.

A year after being slapped by Will Smith in front of a global audience, American comedian Chris Rock finally fought back this Saturday March 4 (on the night of Saturday to Sunday in France), unleashing his blows in a stand-up number, “Selective Outrage”, broadcast live by the Netflix platform.
In March 2022, the American actor took the Oscars stage and hit the comedian who had just made fun of the very short haircut of his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia, as you can see in our video below :

During his performance, the comedian also said Smith took it badly after being widely mocked after an episode of his wife’s podcast in which the couple discussed their affair. ” Why do that ? he asked. ” Everyone called him a bitch. They called his wife a predator (a reference to the actress’s past affairs and which she discussed in the famous podcast, editor’s note). Everybody called him a bitch he said, noting that he tried to offer his condolences after news of the affair became public.

According to Chris Rock, Jade Pinkett Smith’s animosity against him dates back to an event that occurred a few years earlier, when she called on him to boycott the Oscars because her husband hadn’t been nominated for his film “Concussion” (Alone against all in France) in 2015.
