The sky of North Franche-Comté turns yellow because of the sand of the Sahara

As you may have noticed this Saturday, the atmosphere was tinged with a slight yellow color in North Franche-Comté. Of Sahara sand dust, carried by winds going up towards the north, flew over the south and the east of France, tinting the sky. “A low pressure system on the Iberian Peninsula organizes a powerful southerly flow that brings sand from the Sahara up to France“, explained Météo France on its website. The Francs-Comtois shared their photos and shocked reactions on social networks.

On Twitter, several Internet users notice the phenomenon in the middle of the day in Belfort and Montbéliard with this bewildered reaction: “The Sahara covers the sky. I repeat: the Sahara covers the sky.
