This Saturday, February 6 in the morning, the Dijon region found itself in a thick fog, which took on an orange-yellow color during the morning. No need to panic, this color is linked to a well-known weather phenomenon: the Sirocco stroke.

A spectacular phenomenon, without gravity
The call centers of the Rescue Services of Dijon were saturated with calls this morning by people worried about this weather phenomenon.
In fact it is hot air rising coming from the Sahara, it is the famous “Sirocco shot” : a strong wind loaded with Saharan sand particles which crosses the Mediterranean and goes up the Rhône valley. Consequence: this yellow-orange glow in the atmosphere and sticky deposits on the vehicles.
The fine particle measuring stations are reporting high figures linked to this phenomenon. The latest consequence of this Sirocco blow is the rise in temperatures, all above 10 ° c in Côte-d’Or for the day.
