Coach Goran Ivanisevic believes that if he stays healthy, the sky is the limit for Novak Djokovic. Djokovic, who won the 18th Grand Slam title at the last Australian Open, overtook Roger Federer as the world number 1 for most weeks last week.
Federer and Rafael Nadal are tied for most of the Grand Slams and Djokovic comes for them. “When he’s healthy, when his mind is clear like Australia and he knows what he wants to do, the sky’s the limit.
As I said, Steffi Graf, 372, you know … anything is possible. Most importantly, if he’s healthy we’ll see what will happen, “said Ivanisevic, as announced on Essentially Sports.
Ivanisevic recently recognized the size of the Big 3
“Frankly, Rafa will win one more, maybe two, French Open,” Ivanisevic said after Djokovic won the Australian Open.
“(So) you have to keep winning. Novak is the favorite in Wimbledon and the US Open. “World number 2 Daniil Medvedev wanted to win his first Grand Slam title at the last Australian Open, but did not win a set in the final against Djokovic.
“Rafa will definitely win one,” added Ivanisevic. “I hope not two, but I’ll give him one. Who knows. They (the Big 3) are amazing. They keep producing better tennis. Every time you think they’re gone, the young guns come, they’re here but these guys are better, one step better in the finals.
I don’t know where the end is. Maybe they’ll get past Margaret Court (the record holder at 24) and Serena (Williams, who is 23), maybe not. But it’s amazing what they’re doing on the pitch.
It’s amazing how they fare in the big games. I’m waiting for Roger to come back. It will be more interesting to see what will happen at the French Open and Wimbledon. ”
