Prototypes of the upcoming sedan use non-traditional camouflage. It combines motifs of Indian and Czech design.

Škoda is already actively testing prototypes of the upcoming Slavia sedan. As usual, the cars are hidden under a layer of camouflage so that the appearance of the novelty is not revealed before the premiere. Camouflage is unusual this time. Her motif was chosen on the basis of a design competition.
The “Camouflage with Škoda” competition was launched in August to attract design studios, companies, universities, as well as design students and a professional designer. From more than 200 proposals received, the jury finally selected the one from Shreyas Karambelkar, from the city of Badlapur in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

“Congratulations to Shreyas Karambelkar on his victory in the Camouflage with Škoda competition. His design is a great combination of Indian and Czech culture, “explained the decision of the jury Zac Hollis, head of Škoda Auto India. Specifically, Indian culture is represented by warm shades of colors, as well as motifs of a peacock and a lotus, while Czech elements do not lack motifs of glassmaking and cubism.
An interesting prize awaits the winner. He can look forward to a trip to Prague, where he will meet the chief designer of the Mladá Boleslav carmaker Oliver Stefani.
A total of five camouflage designs for Slavia made it to the final round. The second place was taken by a design that adheres to the color palette of Škoda cars, which impressed with its basic shapes and distinctive pattern, which was visible at first glance. Its author received a design tablet as an award for his design. The other finalists of the competition then received material prizes.
The design competition on the form of camouflage of the new Slavia proves how important this model is for Škoda. This will be the second result of the India 2.0 project, through which the Mladá Boleslav carmaker finally wants to make a significant breakthrough in the Indian market. It is even developing new models for the local market for the parent Volkswagen.
The Škoda Slavia follows the already introduced city SUV Kushaq. It will be a sedan that seems to indirectly replace it the current Rapid model, which in India uses the basis of the second generation Fabia. The new Slavia will use the newly developed MQB A0 In platform adapted to Indian conditions, just like Kushaq. In this case, the name refers to the complete beginnings of the Mladá Boleslav carmaker, Slavia was marked by the first bicycles from the workshop of Václav Laurin and Klement.
