The size of the pension that the mother of Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova Svetlana Polyakova receives is about 2.4 thousand UAH. The artist spoke about this in an interview on November 24 published on the YouTube channel of Ukrainian presenter Slava Demin.
“Does your mother receive a pension in Ukraine or in Russia?” – the presenter asked the artist in the context of a conversation about the fact that before the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, Polyakova’s mother lived in Moscow.
“No, she has no connections with Russia. She is a citizen of Ukraine,” the singer said. “What pension? As a doctor? Do you know how much the pension is?”
“2 thousand? 2.4 thousand UAH?” – Demin suggested.
“Yeah,” she confirmed. “Live on them?!”
In the same interview, Polyakova said that her mother gave birth to her while she was studying at medical school.
“I grew up with my grandmother. My mother, when I was born, was finishing medical school. My mother gave birth to me when she was still a student. And my father was a student at this very medical university until he was kicked out because he was a musician and played at weddings. When I was born, it was a student family, they had no place to live, and my mother was taking a test and gave me to my grandmother at the age of three months. And my grandmother was 43 years old. My grandmother was a little younger than I am now. And she got a small child. Of course, “My grandmother was like a mother to me. She raised me. And all my vivid memories from childhood are connected with my grandmother,” the singer admitted.
