One reason is the longer transmission paths between the RKI and the responsible health authorities. The RKI Covid-19 dashboard it can also be adjusted during the day. The RKI also warns: It could be that the decline in incidence does not reflect the actual infection process, but is the result of an overloaded reporting and testing system. Also, it might play a role that some people haven’t made clear on their positive self-test or quick test with a PCR test. So they won’t appear in the stats.
