THE ANGELS Two videos of the popular singer Billie Eilish (real name Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell) at the age of 13 appeared on the social network TikTok. According to the fans, the singer makes fun of the Asians and makes fun of the accents. Eilish apologized in her Instagram post.
In the first video released, Eilish dances and opens her mouth to the sounds of the song Fish (Fish) American rapper nicknamed Tyler the Creator. In the incriminated passage, the English word chink, a racist name for Asians, is heard.
“I love you people. Many of you wanted me to comment. I really want to comment on this, because they frequent me with something I am not, “the singer wrote on her Instagram. According to her, at the time the video was made, she had no idea what the word chink actually meant. “With my childish naivety and ignorance, I cannot justify that it has hurt some of you. I am sorry for that.”
“I’m so disgusted and scared that I just want to throw up because I ever dropped the word,” she added.
The second video captures Eilish as if she wanted to imitate the accents of national minorities. “In the second video, I’m just saying something in some silly hatmatilka and distorted voice,” the singer describes. “It’s been something I’ve been doing since I was a child talking to my pets, friends and family.”
Last week, Matthew Tyler Vorce, the singer’s friend, apologized on racial, homophobic and other inappropriate remarks. Among other things, Vorce was to call the British singer Adele, who had previously struggled with obesity, Miss Pig 2012.
Singer Billie Eilish first made herself known in 2009 with a longing song Ocean Eyes, written by her brother Finneas O’Connell – a producer and musician who calls himself Finneas.
But Billie only made a hole in the world with an album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? (2019), which contains hits like Bad Guy or When the Party’s Over. On a tour of this record, she also visited the O2 Arena in Prague on August 20, 2019. At the end of July this year, the singer will release her second album Happier than Ever.
