The Sinking City 2: Full-Fledged Sequel Announced for 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S

During the Xbox Partner Preview show, Ukrainian Frogwares just confirmed that the developer intends to take players back to the world of The Sinking City for a full-fledged sequel debuting next year.
The game is simply called The Sinking City 2 and will arrive sometime in 2025 PC、PS5 和 Xbox Series X/S , which is said to push the series in a newer direction. We’re told it will tell a standalone story set in the infamous 1920s Arkham City, which is now plagued by a supernatural flood that has brought with it the Eldritch monster. Likewise, we’re told the game will be a survival horror experience, where rising waters constantly change the landscape and the places you can explore.
“The original Sinking City remains one of our most successful titles, most likely due to the stronger horror genre leanings and setting. We’ve created quite a few detective adventures in the past, so now we’ll be mixing things up a bit, Keep doing what people love about us – which means story-rich experiences – while still being able to grow,” said publishing director Sergiy Oganesyan. “It’s exciting, but also risky. We’re a completely independent studio and we’ve been known for our detective games for the past 24 years. But we need to start making bolder moves. The industry around us is changing Changes occur and we want to secure the future of the studio.
Going into some details, the announcement press release states that there will be melee and gun-based combat, and a semi-open world to explore, including points of interest such as a decaying mansion, a flooded market, and an abandoned hospital. There will be resource gathering elements and inventory management where you have to decide what to keep and what to leave behind, as well as optional puzzles that delve deeper into the world and lead to new secrets, alternative options, and additional lore.
It is said that The Sinking City 2 is also in Unreal Engine 5 While there will be detective elements (as we’ve come to expect from Frogwares), in this game they will be entirely optional and not required to further the narrative.
Frogwares says it will launch a Kickstarter for the game to help create a safety net for developers and help secure funding for some additional features, given that its home country is still at war.The event is expected to launch soon, but you can head over to it now page
