The Sims 4: Why Players Are Modifying Stardew Valley Farming

For The Sims 4, EA has released a ton of expansion packs to date. So far, we’ve seen everything from Island Living, Vintage Glamour Y Eco Lifestyle. However, we have seen very little progress in expansions related to agriculture or gardening.

Fans are clearly interested in an expansion related to agriculture, to the point that there is already a mod for fans, The Sims 4: Farm. Limited by what can be worked within the limits of The Sims 4 , Farmland presents a new semi-open world with five habitable plots. Tractors have also been seen in the trailer, but it is not clear if these are just modified cars or if they will affect the environment. The crops and harvest remain largely the same, but a vineyard has been added, inspired by the Italian landscape.

A big part of any game related to farming is harvesting crops. Sims start out with a level 1 gardening in the latest game and plant flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables in their plot from seed packets. Gardening-related activities revolve around a cycle of nurturing, fertilizing, and harvesting. Even expansion Seasons It does little to breathe new life into the gardening cycle, apart from choosing whether a plant will grow or lie dormant over time. Compared to the gardening of the first game, it has not been greatly modified throughout the series, possibly indicating that it is not one of EA’s main concerns, which has left everything related to growing or harvesting. as an underdeveloped feature.

Pets have been an important feature of the series, being The Sims: Unleashed the first pet expansion for the original game, released in 2002. It allowed Sims to keep dogs, cats, and smaller animals, such as birds, and to have animal-related careers, such as Animal Care. The Sims2: Pets is a remake of Unleashed with practically the same number of features. It was notuntil The Sims 3: Pets, released in 2011, when we saw horses being included for the first time and features that included earning money through equestrian competitions or taming wild horses.

The reason for not including horses in the new expansion of Pets It is due to the limited open world concept of the new game. In The Sims 3, players could walk their Sims from one end of the city to another, while in Go Sims 4, the plots are smaller and separated by neighbors, with many more loading screens when scrolling. There is no room to put horses on the current plots, and that limits the addition of larger farm animals, such as cows.

However, being such an important part of the expansion of the previous series, it does not include the horses in Go Sims 4 It almost gives the feeling that fans are being cheated on features. Owning a cat or dog is rewarding in and of itself, but in the previous game owning a horse seemed more like a career path and opened up more opportunities for sims to become more rural.

In reality, an agricultural expansion seems like something that should have come a long time ago. Go Sims. Obviously, fans are unhappy with the quasi-agricultural features like horse ownership that have been removed from the game and lackluster hobbies like gardening. If The Sims were to give the expansion a Stardew Valley-style makeover, we’d probably have to see a new city with bigger, better-suited land for farming and new animals to raise. Running a market or farm shop would be a nice feature, similar to retail stores in The Sims 4: Get to Work, and would better reward players for their hard-working products.
