Sunday’s episode of The Simpsons may feature another bold prediction about the future involving Elon Musk, his space rockets and Company X (formerly Twitter). Many viewers believe that this may come true in the near future.
The long-running Fox animated show has been making predictions since the early 1990s that some viewers believe will eventually come true, Yahoo Entertainment reports.
The fourth episode of The Simpsons’ 35th season aired Sunday, “Thirst Trap: A Corporate Love Story,” which was a big spoof documentary about young college dropout CEO Persephone. The heroine embodies the Silicon Valley philosophy of “fake it till you make it.” Eventually, she manages to charm Mr. Burns into financing her dream project, after which they marry.
In one of the episodes, he gives her “something special” in the form of a birthday card. Persephone thought her new husband had given her a gift card.
“No, I bought you Twitter, the whole company! It was a bargain, the previous owner had to sell it after his autonomous rocket from Mars crashed into the International Space Station,” Burns replies.
For good measure, this scene was followed by a scene where Mr. Burns and Persephone were interviewed by media personality and Billions co-creator Andrew Ross Sorkin, who implied that after becoming the owner of X, Mr. Burns was removed all negative tweets about Persephone from the platform.
Reaction on social media
Strangely, viewers reacted to this episode of the animated series by starting to discuss it on X (Twitter). Many users started joking about the International Space Station and leaving messages dedicated to this event, in case it really happened.
“The Simpsons just warned us that one of @elonmusk’s spaceships will collide with the US space station… they are unbeatable at predicting the tragic future,” wrote one.

Musk on The Simpsons
This isn’t the first time Musk has been mentioned in the popular animated series. In 2015, he appeared in a season 26 episode titled “The Mask Who Fell to Earth”.
He was also a character in other cult series like South Park and Rick and Morty.
The publication notes that it is too early to say whether this prediction of Simpson will come true.
