The sightseeing plane with clients started burning in Ruzyně

Jakub Rozumek published his experience with a sightseeing flight on social networks, stating that he can understand a technical defect on an aircraft. However, he was stopped by the pilot’s behavior.

“I don’t understand that the pilot first wanted to return a few hundred meters to the terminal with a burning wheel. And not at all the fact that we had to get off the plane basically through him, because he didn’t get out to allow the passengers to get out, “said Rozumek.

According to him, then two passengers from the back seats had to squeeze around the pilot’s seat and he himself had to jump over the burning wheel. The fire was then quickly extinguished by airport firefighters with a stream of water, which literally waved to the plane. The fire was captured by a passenger camera.

According to the customer, everything took place before the start of the sightseeing flight. Fly Czech then returned the money and apologized.

Problem with brakes

“While taxiing on the runway, one of the aircraft’s wheels caught fire on a Cessna 172 aircraft. The fire was extinguished immediately after the arrival of the fire brigade. Four people on board escaped unharmed, “confirmed the incident to Novinka airport spokesman Roman Pacvoň.

According to the company, the pilot first had problems with the brakes. “After detecting a non-standard brake response, the pilot first decided to return to the terminal. As a result of the escalation of the situation – a fire in the right wheel – passengers were evacuated to the airport area, “said Josef Pavlíček, CEO of Fly Czech.

According to him, the flight was performed under the personal responsibility of the pilot in a shared cost mode. “Fly Czech acted as an intermediary between the pilot and the passengers,” he stated.

As the case is being dealt with by the Institute for Professional Investigation of the Causes of Aircraft Accidents, he did not want to comment further.
