ATLANTA – Sightings as jellyfish A giant and luminous outer space was caught on camera as it crossed the sky of Waycross, Georgia, United States (US) in the early hours of Thursday, May 5, 2022. A mysterious object streaked across the sky emitting a bright, fast light, and was followed by a glowing oval aura.
Chris Combs, Professor of Aerodynamics and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio, via Twitter explained that this space jellyfish is not a UFO. That glowing object is a rocket SpaceX Falcon 9 launched from Florida’s Kennedy Space Center, about 400 kilometers from Waycross.
However, the question is, there have been a lot of rockets leaving the launch pad at Kennedy every year. Why this launch creates a rare phenomenon in the sky that is mistaken for UFO sightings like glowing space jellyfish.

Combs explained that the formation of the appearance of a giant jellyfish that glowed in the sky was the combustion residue from the exhaust of the Falcon 9 rocket engine nozzle. The elongated round shape was formed due to the difference in pressure inside and outside the nozzle.
In this case, the exhaust gas coming out of the nozzle is enlarged, meaning that the gas pressure is higher than the ambient air when the exhaust gas exits the engine nozzle. “To match the pressure in the surrounding atmosphere, the rocket exhaust lowers its pressure by expanding as soon as it leaves the nozzle,” said Combs.
Then, how is the effect of a bright beam of light created? According to Combs the explanation is much simpler because it is only a matter of time. The launch of the rocket took place in the early hours of Thursday morning at around 05:45 local time, when sunlight coming from above the horizon illuminated the smoke of the rocket so that it shone brightly in the dark sky.
“This is a physical phenomenon at the exact same time that space jellyfish are formed. A simple equation for a beautiful spectacle in the heights of the sky,” said Combs.

Of course, if you want to see a real space jellyfish, you just have to look a little further into space, about 300 million light-years farther to be exact. There is the galaxy cluster Abell 2877; When astronomers recently looked at the object with radio telescopes, they saw a ghost line of jellyfish swimming through distant space.
The huge jellyfish in the sky was the result of a massive gas explosion, in this case, a massive eruption from a collection of primordial black holes. So many extraordinary phenomena that occur in the sky due to various activities of space objects.
