A few months after the release of the GeForce RTX 30-series graphics accelerators, NVIDIA still cannot cope with the shortage, ensuring a sufficient supply of components for the production of video cards. According to several network sources at once, in the near future the deficit of older Ampere models will become even more noticeable.
As the resource indicates HardwareTimes, a number of manufacturers reported that they did not receive new deliveries of components for the production of older GeForce RTX 30-series video cards in January. We are talking about those video cards that were supposed to be delivered to the Asian markets in the near future. Nothing is known about the situation with the supply of video card components that should go to the markets of Europe and the USA. At the same time, it is noted that most retailers have a very meager stock of older models of graphics accelerators, left over from December last year. At the same time, video cards are sold at prices twice the recommended ones, and therefore practically do not attract the attention of buyers.
Sources also report that the situation has not improved with the reference variants of NVIDIA video cards performed by the Founders Edition. Almost all interlocutors HardwareTimes said they did not receive the ordered graphics cards last month. In a conversation with a number of retailers, the resource also found out that they expect limited deliveries of reference video cards by mid-February, and new deliveries of non-reference graphics accelerators are expected closer to the end of this month. Thus, the stocks of the GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090 will be very limited in the near future. On the other hand, the situation is predicted to improve the situation with the supply of mid-segment models – GeForce RTX 3070 and GeForce RTX 3060 Ti.
As has already been noted many times, the situation with the shortage of GeForce RTX 30 graphics accelerators will not improve until the second quarter of this year.
