the shops open this sale Sunday

First trade press briefing, this Tuesday, January 19, at La Scala de Thionville, moderated by Thierry Ghezzi, deputy for city center and trade action, Carol Thil, deputy for participatory democracy and president of Apecet , Anne-Karine Ivanov, the city manager, and Frédéric Hellich, the communications director. A press point structured in three main parts, as for an editorial staff: review of Christmas 2020 events; opening of shops on January 24, the first Sunday of the sales; spring and summer 2021 and even Christmas events.

1. Christmas celebrations 2020

Despite the crisis, the various events organized as part of the end-of-year festivities were a great success. Thionville J’achète recorded 130 partner merchants and the € 45,000 endowment allowed € 450,000 to be donated to the local economy. “We will renew this operation,” promises Thierry Ghezzi. Twenty-five traders presented their offers at Thionville Téléshopping, and 651 people took part in the calendar competition. The traditional Christmas window competition, set up by Apecet, reached 132,332 Internet users and generated 7,233 reactions, 804 comments and 589 shares.

2. The sales, from January 20 to February 16

With Apecet, Thionville shops and La Cour des Capucins, the City is innovating this Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January, the first Sunday of the winter sales, by organizing activities, strolls, and offering sound systems in downtown. “More than 70% of the shops have informed us that they are open on Sunday, from 9 am to 6 pm,” confides Thierry Ghezzi. We hope for more. “

“Our goal is for Thionville to turn into a large shopping center during these three days,” continues Carole Thil.

3. The animations of the year

If the health crisis allows it, the Dolce Vita operation, from April 14 to 21, will make it possible to “find a festive atmosphere in the city”, with the complicity of cafetiers and restaurateurs, and by adding a cultural flavor (conferences, film screenings…).

From June 22 to August 30, Rives et cœur de ville en fête will be back in town and on the quays, but with a little less catering and a little more fun leisure activities for children.

Finally, Christmas 2021 should resume the format announced in 2020, before it is canceled.
