The shooting at the Latino Sports Center in Toronto causes one death and two injuries

One dead and two seriously injured were left in a recorded shooting Sunday night at a sports complex frequented by Latinos in Toronto.

The events were recorded in the indoor sports fields known as “La Liga Sports Complex” in the Finch Avenue West and Alness Street area in North York.

The shooting started around 7:20 pm and what exactly happened has not yet been determined.

Unfortunately, this event resulted in the death of Edwin Alvarado, a 49-year-old man who was the football referee of the local youth league.

The event resulted in the wounding of two people, both young people in their 20s, who are now fighting for their lives after the serious injuries left by the impact of the bullets.

A witness told The Bridge what happened:

“There were so many children and the elderly, we tried to protect each other because there was nowhere to hide, we parents covered our children only with our bodies”.

According to the account of this source who asked for anonymity, “Many of us here in Canada live with the idea that everything is safe here, but what happens is that hardly any news of the truth comes out.”he pointed.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to find the culprits. Several shells have been found on the spot, but the police have not yet released any further information.
