Freddy Budiman Sentenced to death by the Panel of Judges at the West Jakarta District Court for importing 1,412,476 ecstasy pills from China in May 2012.
Five years after Freddy Budiman’s death, his son, known as Fikri Fernanda Budiman, gave his testimony through a video on the YouTube channel Gritte.
Fikri said that during his last visit, Freddy Budiman asked for his visit to be carried out in his room. Because there are some chats that want to be intimate. Freddy joked that he wanted to bathe his son again. He remained calm unlike someone who wanted to be executed.
“I saw that he didn’t feel sad, like he was still joking,” said Fikri, quoted on Monday (22/3/2021).

At that time, he was crying to hear that his father would soon be executed by the firing squad from Brimob in Nusakambangan.
“The thing that made me strong until now, my father’s message at that time was: dedek can now cry as much as possible. Just let out all the crying, all of dedek’s sadness come out now, after papa is gone, after dedek leaves this prison, dedek can no longer cry, dedek must be a strong man, so a man who has a strong mentality and can fight in this life, ”said Fikri imitating his father’s message.
At that time, Freddy Budiman said he asked for his execution to be postponed after the Isha prayer. Before being executed, they ate and prayed Isha in congregation afterwards. Fikri also remembers that he was bribed one last time by his father.
“I shouted out the door,” I love daddy. “Actually, Fikri wanted to take a shower, but was forbidden because he was afraid to influence his psychology. Finally, his father arrived in a condition that he was bathed in a coffin, ”he concluded.
