The building is located in the very center of London, near Buckingham Palace. According to the source, about 500 soldiers of the country’s most famous army regiments live there.
From the outside, the barracks look stunning: it is a classic building built in 1833, against which tourists like to take pictures. As for the interior, it is much worse.
It turns out that the royal guards – the same stately beauties in polished boots and ironed red uniforms whose duties include guarding the British monarch – live in conditions that cannot be described as disgusting.
A retired person who served here claims: even in Britain, prisoners live in greater comfort. According to him, 32 soldiers live on each floor and have to share six toilets and two bathrooms.
Besides, there is no cleaning in the barracks. Thus, garbage, dirt and mold accumulate everywhere – in public spaces, bedrooms and bathrooms. In addition, the barracks smell of dead rats and clogged toilets.
“I couldn’t take it anymore, it’s worse than living in a dirty squat. I put up with it for years but nothing changed. The British public need to know how soldiers are treated in our country. What civilians see when we’re on duty and what our reality, there are two big differences.
