Quebec is moving in the right direction and the curfew is taking effect. The “shock treatment” seems to have worked, since the figures show that hospitalizations will decrease in the coming days.
The Premier of Quebec provided an update on the pandemic situation in the province on January 21. Two weeks after the curfew was put in place, he took stock of the effectiveness of the measure.
He concludes that everything seems to be bearing fruit. Transmission of the virus is slowing down: Quebec now records less than 2,000 cases per day. François Legault took his moment in front of the cameras to thank the police forces who apply the curfew.
Another good news is that vaccination in all CHSLDs in Quebec has been completed.
The Prime Minister intends to monitor the number of hospitalizations, which are still far too high to claim victory.
He was accompanied by the Minister of Health and Social Services Christian Dubé and the National Director of Public Health, Dr Horacio Arruda.
