The shock price of fuels: how much diesel oil costs

It promises to be a bitter Christmas for Italian motorists, as the unstoppable rise in prices of fuels risks ruining the expected holidays for many families. The daily surveys of the Ministry of Ecological Transition do not leave much hope to the citizens and, on the horizon, no reductions in the cost of petrol, diesel and gas are expected. At the international level, the price of crude oil has reached exorbitant costs, as it had not happened since 2014. Consequently, even gas has a high price which is affecting the pockets of taxpayers, who have seen the figure of the bill. The Extraordinary Energy Council in Luxembourg is dealing with the matter. The signs do not seem to be positive, also because the increase in costs is a global phenomenon, which involves the whole planet.

Superpowers like the United States and China are also very concerned about rising fuel prices and are trying to take cover. The Chinese are ready to reopen the mines, while the Americans fear the arrival of winter and are studying solutions to avoid the collapse. In Italy, the situation is no better, quite the contrary. L’Eni, today, has increased the prices of petrol, diesel and gas by one cent per liter. Currently, according to the data provided by the Observatory of the Ministry of Economic Development, gasoline costs 1,744 euros per liter, in self-service mode, and 1,872 euros per liter in served mode. THE distributors which do not belong to the large oil companies and, therefore, without a trademark, apply a price equal to 1.729 euros per liter on the self-service and 1.781 euros per liter on the served.

The diesel, on the other hand, costs 1,610 euros per liter for the self and 1,745 euros per liter for the served. The unbranded pumps, on the other hand, respectively, 1,598 euros per liter for do-it-yourself and 1,652 euros per liter for served. Finally, LPG goes to € 0.818 per liter, methane at € 1.626 per kilo and LNG (liquefied natural gas) at € 1.771 per kilo. On the highways the prices are different: self petrol costs € 1.835 per liter, while in served mode € 2.043 per liter. The self diesel goes to 1,714 euros per liter, while the served one goes to 1,950 euros per liter. LPG costs € 0.918 per liter, methane € 1.864 per kilo and LNG 1,744 € per liter.

The associations that protect consumers in Italy, meanwhile, are on a war footing and are asking for immediate interventions to prevent these increases from bringing most of the consumers to their knees. families. In addition to fuels, the other increases are weighing heavily on the budgets of Italians, in a period still of full crisis, since the effect of pandemic it has not vanished, on the contrary it is making itself felt even more strongly. “In a country like Italy – affirm the leaders of Coldiretti – where 85% of commercial transport takes place on the road, the new record in fuel prices has a snowball effect on spending with an increase in transport costs as well as energy costs. The increase is destined to infect the entire economy, because if fuel prices rise, the purchasing power of Italians who have fewer resources to devote to consumption is reduced “.
