Sunday night’s excesses during the Nice-Marseille match remind us that the safety of supporters and players is not always guaranteed in the stadiums. In Belgium, the invasion of the field has always been rare, even non-existent, despite the proximity of the fans to the lawn. While the system does not prevent incivility, the fact that it is not purely repressive and that it relies more on maintaining dialogue between clubs and supporters is certainly an asset.
