In 1994, the shipwreck of the fishing boat Segura Ferrer
Sinking of the Segura Ferrer fishing vessel from Almeria, dedicated to trawling when it was fishing some 15 miles south of Adra. Once the relief mechanisms were activated, the ten crew members were rescued unharmed by Maritime Rescue and some fishing boats that were fishing in the area.
In 1982, the Church of the Incarnation is declared an Asset of Cultural Interest
Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest to the parish church of the Incarnation of Vélez Rubio. It was built between 1753 and 1768, according to the plans of Fray Pedro San Agustín and the impetus for its construction was due to the X Marqués de los Vélez. The cover is conceived as a decorative altarpiece of the time. The Parish Church of Our Lady of the Incarnation is an important architectural example of the evolution from the end of the Baroque period with the Neoclassical stage through Greco-Roman pre-romanticism. Baroque architectural elements predominate over any other decorative detail from a later period.

The founder of Cajamar, the late Juan del Águila Molina receives from the hands of the mayor of the capital, the Gold medal of the City for his extraordinary professional and personal career. At 76 years of age, Juan del Águila was awarded the fourth medal that Almería awards to an outstanding personality.
In 1980, ETA kills a neighbor of Fines
ETA murders in San Sebastián a marble worker born in Fines who had been working in the Basque Country for several years. To date, he has been the only Almeria civilian killed by ETA.
