The ship with corn from Ukraine to Lebanon is delayed

The reason for the delay is unknown.

The data of the website “Marine Traffic” show that the ship “Razoni” anchored in the Mediterranean Sea near Turkey.

The ship, carrying 26,000 tons of corn, left the port of Odesa on Monday and was then inspected in Turkey under an international agreement to resume grain exports from Ukrainian ports.

The ship was due to arrive in Lebanon this morning, but Marine Traffic reported that the Razoni had changed status on Saturday and was apparently waiting for someone to buy the ship’s cargo.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Lebanon said that the ship has been delayed and the time and day of its arrival are not yet known.

On July 22, Ukraine and Russia signed separate agreements with Turkey and the UN in Istanbul on the resumption of grain exports from Black Sea ports. Agreements brokered by the UN and Turkey provide for the creation of safe corridors through which Ukrainian ships can enter and leave three Black Sea ports in and around Odesa.

Ukraine’s agricultural sector is an important source of grain for world markets, especially in the Middle East and Africa, where the food security situation is particularly tense.

On August 5, in accordance with the international agreement, three ships with corn left the ports of Ukraine, and today four more ships with food products were given permission to leave the Black Sea ports of Ukraine.
