Brick-and-mortar stores exclusively for games are struggling with a lack of customers. Chain GameStop closed all 35 branches in Ireland, problems commented pro GI also the head of the company GAME: “You saw what happened with the pandemic, when digital technology outpaced all our expectations… Customers flocked online, and while some came back, not all. From the market data it can be seen that online is 75% of the market. Before the pandemic, it was 45%.”
Until recently, the Czech store also struggled with falling sales JRC. It returned to green numbers last year thanks to an acquisition by the company Smarty Brands. With it, the range of products, which is not limited to video games, has been significantly expanded.
