From July 27 to 31, the seventh “Jurmala Festival” will take place in person at the Dzintari Concert Hall with five magnificent concerts.
The honorary artist of the festival, opera singer Aleksandrs Antonins, together with Latvian and world-renowned artists Raimonds Pauls, Ksenijs Sidorovs, Ivetas Apkalns, Zandas Švēde, Intars Busulis, Laima Vaikulis, Daumantas Kalniņš, Dinārs Rudāni, Latvian Radio Big Band, Latvian National Symphony, Sinfonietta Rīga Ainārs Rubiķis and Andris Pogus, as well as other artists are invited to the most grandiose summer musical adventure in Dzintari Concert Hall. The special event of the festival is the 85th anniversary concert of Maestro Raimonds Pauls!

The Jurmala Festival of 2021 will be opened with a music program by Raimonds Pauls and a performance of magnificent soloists dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Maestro. Listeners will have an exclusive opportunity to hear the most outstanding Latvian pop musicians of the moment – powerful and versatile singers – Intars Busulis, Daumants Kalniņš, Siegfried Muktupāvels, unique Maestro stage music Laima Vaikulis, Anci Krauzis, Dinārs Rudāni, strong group “Credo”, Latvian Radio big band and other artists.

Leonard Bernstein called Gustav Mahler’s monumental opus “Song of the Earth” Mahler’s most outstanding symphony. The extensive contemplation of two soloists and orchestras in six parts about the inevitability of the brevity and mortality of life in the thrilling finale takes us to the gates of eternity as only the greatest achievements of mankind can do. The soloists of this outstanding piece will be the internationally acclaimed Latvian mezzo-soprano, soloist of the Frankfurt Opera Zanda Švēde and the world-famous Latvian tenor Aleksandrs Antonenko, who has sung more than 30 roles in the world’s most prestigious opera houses. Andris Poga, the main conductor of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, will take the lead.
July 30 at 7.00 – Jurmala Festival. Sunrise concert on Dzintari beach.
The sunrise concert by the world-famous organist Iveta Apkalna by the sea has become a tradition at the Jurmala Festival. For two years in a row, the unusual event gathered hundreds of listeners on Dzintari beach and provided an unforgettable experience of listening to music, the sounds of nature merging with the royal organ pillars and Iveta Apkalna’s wonderful organ playing. This concert, on the sun-drenched Amber Beach, will feature the majestic timeliness of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music and the compositions of the American minimalist Philip Glass, in which the energy of life and the infinity of time pulsate. Free entrance to the concert.
Iveta Apkalna, Honorary Organist of the Hamburg Elbe Philharmonic, is famous for being able to expand the horizons of organ music with her personality. This is also evidenced by the awards she has received: Iveta is the first award-winning organist to receive the Grammy analogue in classical music, the prestigious ECHO Klassik as the best performer, she also has collaborations with today’s best composers, conductors and 15 albums in CD and DVD format. .

The public’s favorite and internationally recognized accordionist Ksenija Sidorova will invite you to a solo concert in the renovated historical small hall of Dzintari Concert Hall. The musician, called the “accordion princess”, with her mastery and personality charm has become the messenger of this instrument in the world. Her performance extends beyond the genre and is acclaimed in the world’s most prestigious concert halls. At the Jurmala Festival, the virtuoso accordionist will delight listeners with compositions from the works of her favorite composers.

Continuing the tradition established in Latvia’s centenary, at the “Jūrmala Festival” we will meet outstanding Latvian-born musicians who have gained wide international recognition – world-famous tenor Alexander Antonenko, accordionist Ksenijs Sidorovs, opera singer Lauris Greckis, violinist Laura Greckis, violinist They will be joined on the big stage of Dzintari Concert Hall by new Latvian talents and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. The conductor of the concert is the internationally recognized musical director of the Berlin Comic Opera Ainars Rubikis.
