The monorail is implemented in places where it is difficult to implement metro lines and other means of rail transport, as the monorail is characterized by the possibility of its implementation in narrow and crowded streets that have large horizontal curves and does not require many modifications in the facilities, and expropriation works are greatly reduced.

A monorail project is being implemented west of the Nile (6th of October), linking Mohandessin and Imbaba with the 6th of October City, where it exchanges service with the third line of the metro at the Nile Valley station, heading to the high-density 26th of July axis, reaching into the neighborhoods of 6th of October City and ending in the city’s industrial zone.
