The September 15 parade will feature more than 130 bands

Within the framework of the 202 years of national independence, the Government of Guatemala, through the Ministry of Education (Mineduc) and the General Directorate of Physical Education (Digef), shared the list of bands participating in the School Civic Parade.

Thousands of children, adults and families will gather in front of the National Palace of Culture to be part of the civic fervor that unites millions of Guatemalans every September 15.

Every September 15, citizens gather to celebrate the emancipation from Spanish rule in 1821, which marked the beginning of a new era for the Republic of Guatemala.

The bands in charge of opening the 2023 civic parade will be the following:

  • Escort of the Polytechnic School
  • Polytechnic School Spenders
  • Platoon of the Polytechnic School
  • San Sebastián School for Boys / Martial Band
  • San Sebastián School for Boys / Traditional band
  • Teresa of Ávila Traditional Band
  • Santa Inés Ladies School / Traditional band
  • San Pablo Catholic School / Traditional band
  • Mercantile High School / Traditional Band
  • San Pablo Catholic School / Martial Band
  • La Patria Mixed Evangelical School.

After that, there will be the participation of more than 130 school bands from various educational centers, who will join the commemoration of national independence.
