At 5:25 a.m. today at the Ministry of Education and Culture, the reporter Milena Kirova from the Bulgarian National Television pressed a key on the computer and thus generated the option for the state matriculation exam in Bulgarian language and literature. Her name was withdrawn by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Science Meglena Kuneva, the Ministry of Education announced.

After the test was assembled at the MES, it was sent to the principals of all the schools where the matriculation exam is held. Through a special code, they will be able to declassify it, print it and distribute it to every senior.

The variant will contain a test with 40 questions and the 41st question – a topic from a specified work by a studied Bulgarian author, on which they will write an argumentative text – an essay or an interpretive composition.

52,089 high school seniors applied for the exam in Bulgarian language and literature. Matura is held in 4,000 halls in 625 schools, and there are more than 10,000 custodians.

The exam will last 4 hours, and for students with special educational needs – 6 hours.

After 3:00 p.m. today, the test with an answer key will be published on the ministry’s website.
