Lestari Ningsih alias Lia (29), a resident of Tumpukan Village, Karangdowo District, Klaten, a suspect in the selling babies caught by the police. The perpetrator turned out to have sold the baby twice.
“This is for the second sale from our investigation. The first is in the Demak Regency area,” explained Head of Unit IV of the Klaten Police Criminal Investigation Unit Ipda Febriyanti Mulyadi to reporters at the Klaten Police Headquarters, as reported by detikJateng, Friday (13/1/2023).
Febriyanti explained, in Demak Regency the baby was sold for IDR 18 million in November 2022.
“It happened in November 2022 in Demak. For those currently in Klaten, we are still looking for an antidote for the baby, still investigating,” said Febriyanti.
According to Febriyanti, the Polres will also develop an investigation into the first case of selling babies in Demak. However, currently investigators are still focusing on the case that occurred in Klaten.
“Later we will expand to the first sale, we are still focusing on the incident in Klaten. For the possibility that there is a syndicate, we are still investigating, while we are alone,” added Febriyanti.
The motive for selling the baby, added Febriyanti, was purely to gain profit. Both of the baby’s parents know that their baby is adopted, not sold.
