The Segovia City Council demands more resources to comply with the protocol to return to schools | Radio Segovia | Present

The Town Councils are in charge of the maintenance, cleaning of the educational centers and the current situation in which it is still unknown how the return to the classrooms will be, causes expectation to the councilor Miguel Merino, responsible for works, services and infrastructures. The councilor points out that they are working but pending to know the indications from the Junta de Castilla y León.

“We are trying to keep up to date regarding requirements and be prepared to act as quickly as possible, we have it quite organized and we value different scenarios, but if more obligations are demanded in the management of the centers we need more resources to be able to comply with them “, Explain. Due to the aspects that are known so far, it will be necessary to clean the bathrooms three times a day, as well as the classrooms each time the coexistence group changes, the common areas among others. To be able to carry out this work correctly, it is necessary to have infrastructures and personnel and to organize in another way that in Merino’s opinion can be done with foresight and resources.

On the other hand, it is also being studied together with the Department of Security, the Department of Education and the Local Police. “The entrance and exit to schools can also cause problems and we are eager to know the protocols of action. The education centers sent their protocols at the end of July to the Junta de Castilla y León. But this has not indicated anything yet” says the councilor.
