The UN Security Council rejected Wednesday the draft resolution of the Russian Federation on the creation of a commission to investigate the activities of American biolabs in Ukraine, reported “Interfax”.
The draft resolution did not get the necessary nine out of 15 votes. Russia and China voted “in favor” of the document. USA, Great Britain and France – “against”, the other member countries abstained.
The Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said Russia was disappointed with the results of the vote.
“We are sorry that our Western colleagues actually sabotaged the negotiation process on the draft resolution. It has become clear that Western countries are simply afraid of setting up a commission to review relevant materials submitted by Russia and conduct an investigation into them. , “He said.
We remember this first Russia has sent a formal complaint to the Security Council e the Secretary General of the United Nations in relation to the activities of American biological laboratories in Ukraine.
Also widespread draft resolution according to which the UN Security Council “decides to form a commission, composed of all members of the Security Council to investigate the claims against the United States presented in the Russian complaint and Ukraine regarding compliance with the obligations under the Convention in the context of the activities of biological laboratories on Ukrainian territory “.
In March, Russia reported Ukrainian biolabs were working on plague and dysentery.
It is not the first time that Russia has declared the presence of secret biological and medical laboratories on the territory of Ukraine and Georgia. So far, these claims have not been confirmed by independent sources.
Last year, China requested an investigation of more than 200 US biolabs for experiments around the world.
