The securing of the slope in Almáciga is declared emergency work | Radio Club Tenerife

The Cabildo de Tenerife will begin, this week, the prevention and assurance works of the Almáciga slope (Santa Cruz de Tenerife), after a landslide was recorded, last Sunday, affecting a vehicle that was circulating at that time on the TF -134 and whose two occupants were injured.

For these works the insular institution has declared the emergency work. According to the Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, “with this decree it is a matter of giving an immediate response to the residents of the area, proceeding to clean up the slope of the possible loose stones that exist and ensuring the slope”

The works, which will be carried out over the next few weeks, will consist of manual cleaning of the entire slope, removing all loose material from the slope, placing protective nets to prevent possible landslides and, at some points, the use of shotcrete. While the works last, traffic will be restricted and only residents of the area will be able to access.
