The exhibition celebrates 40 years of famous animated series of the 80sof which three new seasons of 26 episodes each have been planned since 2012 in the Blue Spirit studios in Charente.
A replica of the Condor
Photos and diagrams, sketches and storyboards: the exhibition aims to be “playful and didactic”. It tells how director Jean-Luc François had to assemble a team of almost 150 professionals to bring the program back to life. “It’s not every day you get to write sequels to a legendary series that has rocked generations of kids,” he says.
The challenge was artistic and technical: to recall the style of the 80s by modernizing it. The characters were created in 3D with 2D renderings. It was also necessary to take the viewer on a journey: China, Japan, India, Zimbabwe, Congo, France…
The exhibition retraces the epic well. The highlight of the visit: a large replica of the Condor, a futuristic vehicle.
