Natividad Castrejón Valdez, head of the Secretary of Public Education of Hidalgo (SEPH), reported that the delivery of books in the entity has already begun and guaranteed that primary school students will already find their materials on their desks when the 2023-2024 school year begins.
In an interview, the state official explained that on July 16 three trailers with copies arrived, which adds up to 1,451,283 books received, which represents 40.68 percent of the 3,566,783 assigned to Hidalgo students.
“We already have books in stock and we are distributing practically all the books for preschool and first to fourth grade in the different regions of the state,” said Castrejón.
In this sense, he mentioned that in the next few days the copies that the fifth and sixth grade students will use will arrive; while the books for secondary school may arrive very close to the start date, but “preschool and primary school are guaranteed to be at the child’s desk on August 28,” she said.
It is worth mentioning that, for the next school year, the books for preschool will be reprinted, for primary and secondary schools, general and technical, they will be a new edition, except for the English copies; and for telesecundaria, only first year will receive books from a new edition, and second and third grade will have reprints.
