This comes after the US Chief Inspector of Homeland Security stated that Secret Service agents deleted text messages they sent and received in the time around the storm on January 6 last year.
The Secret Service dismisses the allegations as untrue.
– The claim that the Secret Service dishonestly deleted text messages after a request is untrue. In fact, the Secret Service has cooperated fully with the chief inspector in every way – whether it is interviews, documents, emails or text messages, says spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
The committee investigating the congressional storm states that they are summoning the Secret Service and asking for all relevant text messages and reports to be handed out.
