Fans revealed the secret only years later.
Leonid Gaidai is known among film fans for his love of elaborate details. Each element in his film has a certain meaning, and in the comedy “Operation Y and Shurik’s Other Adventures,” the director even revealed his plans for the future
As the authors of the Zen blog “From the Point of View of Dialectics” are sure, the director showed the posters of two films in the short story “Partner” for a reason. Attentive viewers were able to see that the posters “Short Summer in the Mountains” by Aida Manasarova and “How to Be Loved” by Wojciech Has appeared in the frame.
The first film told about the adventures of a spectacular student Galina, who flies to the Caucasus Mountains. There she not only gets acquainted with the local culture, but also with the engineer Letyagin, with whom she instantly falls in love. The second film told the dramatic love story of actors Felicia and Ravich, whose romance ends very dramatically.
And these films, according to film experts, are not coincidentally similar to Gaidai’s next works – “Prisoner of the Caucasus” and “Ivan Vasilyevich”. The plots of the films have very similar features, and in the characters you can guess the characters in the stories about Shurik. That’s why they ended up in the frame, because Gaidai himself had already decided at that time what exactly he would film next.
