The Secret of the Universe: How Much Do People Weight on Other Planets? The all page

KOMPAS.com – If body weight You’re on Earth now 50 kg, is it on planet else, human weight will be the same?

Earth has a different gravity than other planets. If we come to a certain planet, our weight will also change. How could this happen?

This is because the weight of humans on other planets is a result of the mass, the strength of gravity on that planet, and the distance humans are from the center.

The mass of humans does not change on other planets, but the gravity and size of the planets can affect human weight.

Reported Live Science, Friday (16/4/2021), weight is the force exerted by gravity on an object because of its mass. Your mass remains constant throughout universe.

However, your weight will change depending on the force of gravity acting on you, which varies from planet to planet.

Newton’s Laws about Universal Gravity says that everything with mass attracts every object with mass, attraction with force (a) is directly proportional to the product of two objects’ mass and (b) is inversely proportional to the square of the distance separating their centers.

Then how do you calculate weight on other planets?

The way to calculate your weight on other planets is to calculate your weight at earth multiplied by the surface gravity on another planet.

So, if you know the weight on Earth and Earth’s gravity, You can calculate your mass.

You can then calculate your weight on the other planet by using that planet’s surface gravity in the same equation.

The following is a list the force of gravity on other planets in this universe.

  1. Mercury: 0.38
  2. Venus: 0,91
  3. Earth: 1.00
  4. Mars: 0,38
  5. Jupiter: 2,34
  6. Saturn: 1.06
  7. Uranus: 0,92
  8. Neptune: 1.19
  9. Pluto: 0,06

Multiplying the weight on Earth by the numbers above will give you the weight on the surface of each planet.

So, if you weigh 68 kg, then our body weight will be 159 kg on the planet Jupiter.

Then, on Mars we will have a weight of 26 kg while on the planet Pluto it will decrease to just 4 kg.

It can be noticed, that Mercury and Mars have the same proportional gravity, even though Mars is almost twice as big as Mercury.

Mars’s superior size is 1.4 times the diameter of Mercury, outperforming the extra mass effect due to the inverse square relationship between gravity and distance.

Planet Uranus and Venus provide a more striking example of this phenomenon. Even though Uranus is about 17.8 times the mass of Venus, its 4.2 times larger diameter still negates the difference in proportional surface gravity.
