The secret of SME competitiveness is an intelligent (smart) factory in one place! – Press release | meeting room | news

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Lee Young) held the opening ceremony of the Intelligent (Smart) Manufacturing Innovation Exhibition 2022 on the 5th with the participation of 70 companies leading manufacturing innovation with smart (smart) factories.

The 2022 Intelligent (Smart) Manufacturing Innovation Exhibition will publicize the achievements of intelligent (smart) manufacturing innovation created through the cooperation between the government, SMEs and large enterprises to the public, and promote the intelligent (smart) manufacturing industry in response to the fast-changing era of digital transformation (held to introduce the direction of smart) and will be held at Seoul aT Center from 5 to 7. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups has been supporting since 2014 the supply of smart (smart) factories to small and medium producers together with the private sector to strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium producers.

Along with the numerical expansion of intelligent (smart) factory construction, intelligent (smart) factory builders achieved high performance such as productivity increase of 29.4%, quality improvement of 42.8%, and cost reduction of 15 9%, which led to a 6.4% increase in sales per company, it was also found to be linked to business growth and good job creation, such as a 1.5% increase in employment and a 4.9% decrease in occupational injuries.

2022 Intelligent (Smart) Manufacturing Innovation Fair is held with the motto (slogan) of “Cry of Intelligent (Smart) Manufacturing Innovation, Korea Growing Together”, △ Meritorious Person Award, △ Exhibition Hall, △ Business (Business) Consultation, △ Academic Conference (Conference), △ Artificial Intelligence Competition, etc.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Minister Joo-hyun Jo of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups received a Presidential Citation (Neonant Co., Ltd.) and a Prime Minister’s Citation (CEO Chang-Hee Hwang, Myungkwang Co., Ltd. ) each for a man of merit in manufacturing innovation who contributed to the development of the national economy, and the Minister of SMEs and Startups, for a total of 22 points, of which 20 for commendation.

In his congratulatory speech, Vice Minister Cho Joo-hyun said, “Korea has the second-highest share of manufacturing in GDP, and the source of domestic manufacturing competitiveness lies in the efforts and passion of small and medium-sized enterprises that constantly they challenge and innovate.” he encouraged their hard work.
“The government is expanding advanced intelligent (smart) factories and strategically intelligent (smart) factories through cooperation with ministries to overcome the three complex crises such as high prices and step forward as an intelligent (smart) manufacturing power in the era of digital transformation We will expand support for factory construction and public-private cooperation for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for mutual growth*.”

* Conglomerate funds, expertise and technology are supported to build a smart (smart) factory for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the government bears part of the construction cost.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has made the settlement of business expenses online for transparent management of the smart (smart) factory construction project, and strengthened the penalties for insolvent construction. a new “strategy (tentatively named) to promote intelligent (smart) manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises” is expected in the first half of 2023.
