A recording of a police check truck driver viral social media. In the recording, the truck driver admitted that he was asked for a sack of onions by the police who ticketed him in the Tangerang area.
In the viral video, a police officer is seen standing in front of a motorcycle, not far from the truck belonging to the driver who claimed to have been ticketed.
The driver admitted that he had tried to give Rp. 100,000 in exchange for a ticket.
According to the driver, the police actually refused and preferred to be exchanged for a sack of onions for him.
“I got a ticket but asked for a sack of onions, boss. Police. Colleagues, please help me with my condition, yes. I was asked for a sack. I was given 100 thousand, I didn’t want to. Asked for a sack of onions. Plate number A 3*** MI,” said the truck driver in the video, Tuesday (2/11).
Head of Sub-Directorate for Gakkum Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Argo Wiyono confirmed the incident.
Argo said the police officer in the video was a member of the traffic police unit of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police.
“It has been monitored. Members of the Airport Police Traffic,” he explained when confirmed.
Argo said the police officer was currently undergoing an examination by the Propam Polda Metro Jaya.
“The person concerned is currently being clarified and questioned at the Polda Metro Jaya Propam,” he said.
Argo has not been able to explain in detail when the incident occurred. Including the initials and rank of police officers in the viral video.
“It’s better to go directly to the Airport Traffic Head, yes. Because he is the member concerned,” he said.
