Doctor MM (29) was named a suspect in the deadly fire at a workshop in Malabar Market, Tangerang. MM burned the workshop with gasoline because he was hurt because marriage is not approved with the son of the workshop owner, Lionardi (34).
Deadly fire it happened on Friday (6/8) around 23:10 WIB. It started when MM and Lionardi got into an argument in front of the workshop.
“That the victim Lionardi had a fight with the perpetrator MM in front of the victim’s workshop,” said Head of Public Relations of the Tangerang City Police Kompol Abdul Rochim when contacted by reporters, Tuesday (10/8/2021).
Victim Already Knows MM’s Plan
Lionardi already knew MM would burn the workshop. Lionardi then informed his family about it.
“When they got out of the car, the perpetrator and the victim entered the repair shop, then the victim, Lionardi, told him that his girlfriend was going to set the workshop on fire,” he said.
Bring a Pack of Gasoline
MM then left after Lionardi gave information on MM’s evil plan to his family. MM then left and returned to the workshop with a package filled with gasoline.
“After that, the victim’s boyfriend left and not long after, an explosion was heard inside the workshop and immediately a fire broke out, so that the victim’s witness and victim could not get out of the workshop because the fire was already burning downstairs,” he said.
Victims Trapped in Fire
Instantly the fire scorched the ground floor of the workshop. Lionardi with his two brothers named Nando and Siska tried to go upstairs to save themselves. But unfortunately, Lionardi and both parents died.
“Furthermore, the victim’s witnesses and the victim went upstairs to save themselves, but only two of the victim’s witnesses survived. Meanwhile, the victim’s parents and the victim’s sister died,” said Rochim.
MM was questioned by the police for the incident and was named a suspect. From the results of the examination, he admitted that he burned the workshop because Lionardi’s parents did not approve of MM marrying Lionardi, even though he was already pregnant.
