KOMPAS.com – Regent North Paser Sharpener, East Kalimantan Abdul Gafur Mas’ud was caught in a Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sting operation (OTT) at a mall in the South Jakarta area on Wednesday (12/1/2022).

Gafur’s arrest is suspected to be related to the receipt of money by state officials related to projects and business permits in North Penajam Paser Regency.

The handover of the money was allegedly carried out at a cafe in Balikpapan Harbor. The money from the contractor was received by Nis Puhadi alias Ipuh, Gafur’s confidant.

By Gafur, Nis Puhadi was ordered to take the money to Jakarta. Arriving in Jakarta, Rizky picked up Nis Puhadi, who is also Gafur’s confidant.

Long story short, Gafur with Ipuh and General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party Nur Afifah Balqis will go to an event in Jakarta.

After that, they went to a mall in south Jakarta with Rp 950 million in cash.

At that time, Gafur also asked Nur to add Rp 50 million from his account. The money is then put in a suitcase.

Related to the case, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Alexander Marwata said his party secured Rp 1 billion in cash and a bank account with a balance of Rp 447 million. And some groceries.

In addition to the Regent, the KPK has also appointed the Acting Secretary of the PPU Regency, Mulyadi and the Head of the North PPU Public Works and Spatial Planning Office, Edi Hasmoro.

Then, the Head of the Education, Youth and Sports Office of PPU Jusman and the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic Party DPC Nur Afifah Balqis.

In addition, the KPK has also designated a private party as the giver of bribes, namely Achmad Zuhdi alias Yudi.

Allegedly there is a flow of money to the Democratic Party

Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Alexander Marwata said that his party was investigating the flow of funds related to the case to the Democratic Party.

Alex said, Abdul Gafur is currently contesting in the election of the DPD leader of the East Kalimantan Democratic Party.

In addition, the KPK is also paying attention to the presence of Nur Afifah and Abdul Gafur in Jakarta during the hand arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday (12/1/2022).
