Jakarta –
NCP hold back Samin Tan as a suspect in the alleged bribery case of the former Deputy Chairman of Commission VII DPR Eni Maulani Saragih. The KPK said that Samin Tan, who had been a fugitive, was arrested at the time coffee at a cafe in Jakarta.
“If I’m not mistaken, (Samin Tan) being in the cafe means either he’s drinking coffee or with his subordinates. With anyone aja later, “said KPK Deputy for Enforcement Karyoto in a press conference at the KPK, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday (6/4/2021).
Samin Tan, who was once among the richest people in Indonesia, was arrested by the KPK investigating team on Monday (5/4). He said that Samin Tan was at a cafe on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta.
“The team moved and monitored the suspect’s whereabouts at a cafe located on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, and immediately arrested,” said Karyoto.
“The suspect was then taken to the Red and White Corruption Eradication Commission building for further investigation for the purposes of investigation,” he continued.
Previous, Samin Tan was arrested by the KPK after almost a year as a fugitive. The KPK named Samin Tan as the owner of PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Metal as a suspect in the alleged bribery case for allegedly giving Eni Saragih a bribe of Rp. 5 billion.
“The KPK has increased the status of handling this case to an investigation with the suspect SMT (Samin Tan),” said the then deputy chairman of the KPK, Laode M Syarif, at the KPK building, Jalan Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday (15/2/2019).
Samin is suspected of giving Eni a bribe to help his subsidiary, PT Asmin Kolaindo Tuhup (AKT), which is currently in trouble. NCP said the problem was related to the Coal Mining Exploitation Work Agreement (PKP2B) Generation 3 in Central Kalimantan between PT AKT and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
“Eni as a member of the DPR in the Energy Commission undertakes SMT’s request for assistance and seeks to influence the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, including using the RDP forum with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, where Eni is a member of the Minerba Committee on Commission VII DPR,” he said.
