JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – A member of the Dit Polairud Baharkam Polri Bripda Rio Novemberyanto Rajagukguk was ganged up on by an unknown group of people on Saturday (1/1/2021) at 17.00 WIB.
The beatings occurred when the victim was trying to break up the residents involved in the commotion on Jalan Ende, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
North Jakarta Metro Police Head of Criminal Investigation, AKBP Dwi Prasetyo Wibowo, explained that the incident began when the victim was eating at a warteg in Tanjung Priok with his colleague.
At that time, continued Dwi, not far from the warteg, the victim saw a commotion and intended to intervene.
“The victim was eating at a warteg with his colleague and then saw a commotion. He tried to break up,” said Dwi, Monday (3/1/2022).
However, this good intention to intervene was received differently by the crowd at the location, and Rio was instead the victim of being beaten by a group of these people.
“He intended to intervene, but instead became a victim,” said Dwi.
Dwi said, due to the beating, Rio suffered injuries in several parts of his body.
Meanwhile, regarding the investigation process regarding the beatings against members of the National Police, Dwi emphasized that it was still in progress.
