The provincial directorate of national education, preschool and sports in Essaouira is increasing the number of meetings and field visits to ensure the monitoring of the optimal implementation of the “Secondary education” project which is part of the 2nd program of cooperation “Compact II”, concluded between the government of the Kingdom of Morocco and the government of the United States, represented by the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).
In this context, an American delegation led by the resident director of the MCC in Morocco, Richard Gaynor, recently carried out a field visit to schools benefiting from this project in the province of Essaouira, in order to learn about near the infrastructure upgrading work carried out within the framework of the said project.
Thus, the American delegation, which was accompanied by the coordinator of the project at the provincial level and the person in charge of the upgrading of the infrastructures of the MCC, went to the college high school Jabir Ibn Hayane (commune of Sidi Ishaq) and to the Mohamed Zerktouni college high school (Ounagha commune).
This visit allowed members of the US delegation to learn about the progress of the implementation of the actions planned within the framework of this project, underlines the provincial direction in a press release. With a budget of US $ 111.4 million, the “Secondary Education” project aims to improve the quality and relevance of secondary education programs (middle and high schools) and to ensure equity in education. ‘access to this education.
The educational institutions benefiting from this project in the province of Essaouira are the new college high school (commune of Essaouira), the college high school Smimou (commune of Smimou), the college high school Mohamed Zerktouni (commune of Ounagha), the Jabir Ibn Hayane college high school (Sidi Ishaq commune) and Talmest qualifying high school (Talmest commune).
