At the beginning of the second training session, the riders traditionally rode on hard and medium tires. After ten minutes, red flags were hoisted. After Vettel, Lewis Hamilton parked the car on the track. He already had performance problems on the finish line, but stopped the car later. The Brit had only three laps at the time.
After a while, the training was restarted, but not for long. Another red flag was taken care of by Nikita Mazepin, who ended up in the gravel zone after hours.
The second red flags affected the qualification simulations. Ferrari drivers took the lead. Leclerc was the first to get below 1:11.
