The cult Brazilian series “Clone” was released in 2001 and immediately won the love of millions of viewers around the world. More than 20 years have passed, and interest in this project from the public does not subside. Only in Russia a soap opera is aired almost every year.

Such an unquenchable love for the “Clone” is explained very simply. Screenwriter Gloria Perez managed to write a really fascinating story about love, science, religion and social problems. Someone with genuine interest watched how the relationship between Lucas and Jade, separated by their families, developed, others were eager to find out what would eventually become of the clone itself.

The end of the series logically completed almost all storylines. The main couple of the project was finally able to be together, Sid Ali still found his ideal wife, the long-awaited peace came to the family of Mohammed and Latifa, and even Maiza found happiness in her personal life. On the other hand, the Clone ending can be considered open. After all, no one understood what happened to the clone and his “father” Albieri. However, probably, the creators seriously wanted to answer all the questions of the audience in the second season of the series that fired.

After the filming of The Clone was completed, the director and his team immediately began to discuss a possible sequel – such information can be found in many sources on the Web. Moreover, the performers of the roles of Jade and Lucas, Giovanna Antonelli and Murilo Benicio, then no longer hid a stormy romance and were ready to return to their images. However, Gloria Perez, the creator of Clone, refused to work in this direction. She went through a difficult period in her life. And then Antonelli and Benicio broke up with a loud scandal. And then the second season of the story was out of the question.

However, loyal fans of the series do not leave hope that someday a sequel to “Clone” will be filmed in Brazil. Moreover, such topics do come up from time to time. So, in 2018, the producer of the cult project, Guillermo Bolela, shared that the Globo studio was thinking about filming a full-length sequel to Clone.
