The storyline of the series has developed since the events of 1994 in Jelgava, when 89 prisoners escaped from Pārlielupe Prison, tens of thousands of people were involved in the search for the fugitives, and mass arrests continued for ten years. The story of the second season is the series’ interpretation of what could happen after the big break.

The sequel resumes at the end of the first season – the prisoners break free and disperse, but are spotted – a sharp chase begins.
