Mónika Kiss-Stefán, the producer of the film Memento mori – A Vácí Legenda, which achieved domestic and international success, the actors Gábor Reviczky, Iván Kamarás and the famous editor István Király were guests of the extraordinary Civic Evening in Vác at the Piarista Kilátó on Thursday evening.
The hosts of the event were Bence Rétvári, the KDNP member of parliament of the region, and Fédra Fábián. The book Memento mori was also presented as part of the evening. Mónika Kiss-Stefán said that she had been working on the book just published for five years. He also announced that, according to his plans, the film would continue with a second part, which already has the title: Memento mori – The preacher. He said that the film would also be shot in Vác, but this time in even more locations, with even more extras.
“I was very happy that extras from Vác appeared in the first film, and now I hope there will be even more. I also hope that they will help me find even more locations. Although I already know every doorway, every house, I think. I love every bit of the city” – the film’s producer detailed his plans.
At the event connected with the audience meeting, during the evening it was also discussed who and how experienced the shooting, whether there were any memorable events, whether the actors have special dream roles. In this regard, Gábor Reviczky explained that he has no such desire, because fate and life give him his roles. Because it may happen that someone chooses a role himself, but then “when he gets it, he can’t do anything with it,” he explained. Iván Kamarás also put it this way: “I don’t choose the roles, they choose me.” He added: “We live in symbiosis with the audience, and let’s not forget that we work for them. This cinema was also created to inform the world that there is such a miracle in this place, and not just to inform them dryly, but to take them to a world through the past, through the present, where we can dream together and actually we can watch this miracle, this fairy tale with our mouths open.
István Király, on the other hand, shared a wish with the audience: “I have a very simple wish, that Stefi can shoot her next film next summer. The story is already in your head, and even on paper, all you need is luck, the position of the stars and the will of God,” he explained.
