On October 28, the post-race press conference of the Second National Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Yantai, Shandong Province to announce the results and gains of this competition.
During the finals of this competition, a total of 1,457 teams and projects from 43 team units across the country participated. Under the guidance of an expert steering committee composed of 12 academicians and 11 technology entrepreneurs, 252 review experts conducted a fair and impartial selection of the participating projects.
The competition produced a total of 55 gold medals, 109 silver medals and 164 bronze medals. A total of 37 teams, 328 postdoctoral teams and projects won medals, and the postdoctoral researchers in the team also received the “National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Outstanding Postdoctoral” certificate.
A total of 6,206 projects and teams signed up for this competition, with a total of 25,000 participants, including nearly 10,000 people with postdoctoral work experience. After a selection competition, a group of outstanding young talents represented by postdoctoral fellows stood out. The average age of the contestants is 34 years old, the youngest is 19 years old, and more than 20% of the contestants are under 30 years old. This competition provides a broad stage for young postdoctoral talents to compete, communicate and collide. It encourages them to pay attention to industrial needs and devote themselves to scientific and technological innovation, and promotes postdoctoral talents to challenge themselves and accelerate their growth. This session has promoted the establishment of a number of industry-university-research cooperations, injecting a catalyst for technology transfer and transformation. In addition to the finals of the four categories of Innovation Competition, Entrepreneurship Competition, Overseas (Overseas) Competition, and List-Unveiling Competition, the competition also simultaneously carried out the list-unveiling, results exchange, service town creation, policy promotion, talent recruitment, etc. Seven exchange and docking activities have allowed postdoctoral scientific research results to go out of the laboratory and into the market. Companies with technical needs will make announcements on the spot, postdoctoral teams with results transformation and investment and financing needs will have on-site road shows, and on-site signings will be signed to reach cooperation intentions. During the competition, a total of 806 units (projects) from across the country participated in on-site exchange activities. 92 top-notch projects and 80 achievement transformation projects were successfully signed on-site. The intended cooperation amount was 4.354 billion yuan, achieving high efficiency between corporate needs and technical results.
