According to the “Ta Kung Pao” report, according to the “Announcement on Tendering for Urban Design, Traffic Planning and Urban Renewal of Dongguan Central Station of the Second High-speed Railway” newly released by the Guangdong Provincial Public Resources Trading Platform, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Second High-speed Railway “Dongguan Central Station” is basically determined to be located in Hadi, Nancheng, which means that the entire route of the new high-speed railway is generally clear.
The second Guangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railway is planned to start construction next year at the earliest. After completion, it will only take 20 minutes for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Airport to reach each other, which will further promote the joint development of the Guangzhou metropolitan area and the Shenzhen metropolitan area. According to the plan, the high-speed rail will connect to Hong Kong via Qianhai’s southern extension, connecting Shenzhen North Railway Station to Hong Kong; in the future, it is expected to connect to the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Railway Project, connecting Hong Kong’s Kau Yi Chau artificial island and even Hong Kong Airport.
Among the existing intercity railway channels between Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the only high-level channel is the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail, which connects to Guangzhou South Railway Station and is far away from the central area of Guangzhou. From Shenzhen North Station to Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, including 29 minutes by high-speed rail (Shenzhen North Station-Guangzhou South Station) + 77 minutes by subway (Guangzhou South Station to Baiyun Airport South), the total is about 106 minutes. However, after the opening of the second Guangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railway, it only takes 20 minutes to reach each other from Baiyun Airport to Shenzhen Airport, and it only takes more than 20 minutes to go directly to Guangzhou-Shenzhen Airport from the central city of Dongguan.
As the overall route of the second Guangzhou-Shenzhen high-speed railway is generally clear, five stations of “Guangzhou North Station-Baiyun Airport-Yuzhu Station-Dongguan Nancheng Hadi (Dongguan Central Station)-Shenzhen Airport” have also surfaced, further accelerating the pace of “high-speed rail entry” in the three cities of Guangzhou, Dongguan and Shenzhen.
